Megyn Kelly arrival at NBC could shake up 'Today' show

Kelly is expected to join NBC News formally in May, this person said.

Kelly left Fox News on January 6 after signing a deal with NBC News that includes a daytime show, a Sunday evening news magazine and a presence on NBC's event and breaking news coverage.

Japan to launch defence communications satellite
The two countries are also at odds over the exploitation of gas fields that straddle exclusive economic zones claimed by both. Japan on Tuesday launched a new communications satellite created to promote the sharing of military information.

Sources at NBC tell ET that Kelly's new daytime show will take over either Today's 9 a.m. or 10 a.m. hour, and that the NBC morning show is getting rid of Al Roker and Tamron Hall's "Today's Take" hour - which now airs at 9 a.m. - in the process.

We're told Kelly will take over either the 9 a.m. hour from Tamron Hall and Al Roker or will replace Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford. Hall also hosts MSNBC Live, a daily news program on MSNBC. Whether she is part of the network's news coverage right away remains to be seen.

"Everyone has been left in the dark and no one knows why there's such a disruption when shows are doing so well across the board", the site quoted an unnamed source.

According to Deadline, the reason why this announcement was made today to the staff, even though it will be a few months before Kelly hosts a morning show, is due to Hall's ongoing contract talks with the network.

Deadly storms tear through rural Georgia
A massive tree fell through the living room, causing the roof to cave in and breaking a window and leaving lots of water damage. A further four were injured in Choctaw County, Mississippi and at least 20 homes damaged in a suspected tornado.

Sources inside NBC News disputed the notion that the 9 a.m. hour would be "canceled" to make room for Kelly. She now anchors an afternoon block on MSNBC and also is among the anchors to fill in on earlier hours of Today. Today producers were reportedly informed of the changes Friday morning, one day after Al Roker tweeted a celebratory message about the show's ratings.
