Super Troopers: McLaren Previews Second-Gen 650S With New Carbon-Fiber Monocoque

The Geneva International Motor Show is a highlight every year because it doesn't deal with standard pedestrian cars; it deals in supercars, hypercars, and everything exotic and rare. This was followed around 12 months later by the Spider version while the 650S Coupe and Spider were launched in 2014. So what does McLaren have in store for the second act of its Super Series? In 2015, McLaren launched the limited edition 675LT Coupe and 675LT Spider. There is no mention of which vehicle will roll out first, but we do know it'll use a new carbon-fiber structure called Monocage II.

McLaren claims that the Monocage II will offer a wider cabin entrance and lower sill which will also improve the all-round visibility. It also enables a lower centre of gravity, further sharpening the dynamic performance new range. Buyers can also opt for the "visible monocage" option, and have their A-pillars exposing carbon fibre for the world to see.

Hopkins also said that Hulu is in "active discussions" with part-owner NBCUniversal about adding their channels to the lineup. A big part of what will make the service successful is what programming it offers.

It's being reported, a new T-bar shaped roof, meanwhile, will help McLaren extend its trademark dihedral doors to pay homage to the original F1 road car's iconic doors.

"Super Series is the core of the McLaren business and personifies the blend of extreme performance, crafted luxury and unparalleled driver involvement that is the McLaren heartland", said McLaren Automotive CEO, Mike Flewitt.

Speculation has the new model powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine but possibly with higher capacity than the current 3.8-litre unit and with more power than its 478kW.

It will be the first of the fifteen new cars cited in the company's Track22 Business Plan for all-new models which will be produced at its Woking plant in Surrey by 2022.

Court documents show the agent claimed Schwab was "weaving in and out of traffic nearly causing several collisions". When asked for a comment on the case, Barrett said, "I've never seen this before; I've never even heard of it".

The new model, also expected to be named after its power output (so expect a much higher number than 650) has already been spied testing, but McLaren has released a first image of the auto showing it's new carbon fibre Monocage II body structure.
